Ideally, you will need a jigger, shaker, strainer and, occasionally, a blender. To set up a minimal bar that would make a fairly-wide range of drinks, you need: Bourbon, Dry & Sweet Vermouth, Gin, Light Rum, Tequila, Vodka, two of your favorite liqueurs and Angostura bitters.
